The purpose of the exam is to document to what extent you as a student meet the academic goals set for the education in the curriculum.
Exam
You are automatically enrolled in the exam and have three attempts at each exam.
If you do not show up at the exam or fail to hand in, this counts as an exam attempt.
If you fail all three attempts; you will be excluded from the study. You are not entitled to retake the semester.

Special test conditions
- You can apply for special test conditions for exams, such as extended time, if you suffer from a physical or mental functional impairment.
- If your functional impairment is permanent, you only need to forward one application which will be applicable for the duration of your education. If any changes regarding your permanent functional impairment, please notify us via email, eksamen@kea.dk
- You can apply for special test conditions for exams in Danish if Danish is not your mother tongue and it is decided that extending your time will bring you on equal footing with the other participants during an exam.
- The Study Administration decides in the matter.
- Your application must be forwarded via SDBF.DK 5 weeks ahead of the date of your exam.
- In your application, please upload documentation, e.g., a doctor’s note, a dyslexia certificate, a language test etc. validating your health condition or relevant, specific functional impairment or language proficiency.
4th examination attempt
You can apply for exemption in the form of a 4th exam attempt, if this is based on unusual circumstances, such as critical illness in the family, divorce, death.
Application for exemption must be sent through SDBF.
How to apply for extra time and 4th examination attempt
Go to sdbf.dk and fill out the application form. You need MitID to log on to SDBF.
Response to your application
Your application will be processed by KEA Study Administration. You will receive a reply from the Study Administration within five weeks from handling in your application.
Exam cheating
If you do something - intentionally or unintentionally - that gives you better terms than those assigned, it will be regarded as cheating.
If you help someone else to gain an unfair advantage for the exam, this will be regarded as cheating.
At stopplagiat.nu you can get help to avoid plagiarism.
In your programme curriculum you will find procedures and consequences in connection with exam cheating.
Complaints
You can complain about:
- the basis of the examination
- the examination process
- the assessment (grade).
Your complaint must be in writing and justified.
Send your complaint to klage@kea.dk no later than two weeks after the announcement of the assessment (grade).
The decision will be sent in writing and may be:
- An offer for a re-assessment (written exams only)
- An offer to resit the exam or
- A ruling against your appeal
Please note that a re-exam may result in a lower grade.
