On 20 February, KEA hosted a workshop for students interested in and having ideas for increasing sustainability at KEA.

A group of 8 committed students from Energy Technology, Energy Management, and Architectural Technology and Construction Management met with consultants from Rambøll and KEA Facility. During an intense 1½ hours, good energy was created in the conference room at GBG, and not least, concrete suggestions were delivered on what KEA should prioritize in terms of sustainability initiatives.

The workshop aimed to feed into the ongoing work of formulating a sustainability strategy for KEA's building operations. The event was facilitated by Rambøll, and the sustainability strategy work is also part of clarifying whether KEA should work towards a DGNB certification of the building operations for one or more of KEA’s buildings. Certification depends on achieving goals within environmental quality, economic quality, and social quality.

Among many concrete suggestions were a focus on improved building automation, indoor climate control of technical installations, but also more interdisciplinary collaboration between programs and a suggestion for a personal study cup instead of disposable cups!

KEA takes all suggestions into the further work with the sustainability strategy.
