If you gets sick while studying at KEA it is important that you notify us by using the forms in SDBF. You can see below when you should notify us, and which forms to use.
If you fall ill acutely before or at an exam, or if you can’t hand in your exam project due to acute illness, you must IMMEDIATELY and before 4pm on the day of the examination/the day of hand in, submit the form “Sygemelding akut/Notification of illness acute”. Please note, that you must pay for the medical certificate yourself.
Note: If you haven’t filled out the form before the deadline, we will not accept it and therefore you will have used an attempt.
In relation to COVID-19, students must come to KEA when they have no symptoms of illness. If you are going to an examination with physical attendance at KEA and have symptoms of COVID-19 or are awaiting a response to a test, you must therefore also report sick. You do this in SDBF, as instructed above.
You must submit the form "Sygemelding længerevarende/Notification of illness long-standing", if you’re suffering from longstanding illness.
If you’re ill for more than two weeks (including public holidays ), and your illness has a negative effect on your studies, KEA defines it as longstanding illness.
In the form you must attach documentation for the course of your illness - such as a medical certificate. The period that you specify in the form must be clearly stated in the documentation. Please note, that you must pay for the medical certificate yourself.
Go to sdbf.dk and fill out the form "Sygemelding akut/Notification of illness acute" or "Sygemelding længerevarende/Notification of illness long-standing". You'll need NemId to log on to SDBF.
You receive an answer to your sick leave from the study administration of your education.
A medical certificate must prove the following:

Internship is rated either 15 or 30 ECTS points, corresponding to 10 or 20 weeks of full-time internship respectively. The working hours must be 37 hours per week.
The duration is stipulated by a departmental order on KEA’s programmes. This means that your internship cannot last less or more than 10 or 20 weeks.
As a starting point, the working hours should lie in the daytime on weekdays. However, the company and the intern can agree to place some of the hours in the evening or at the weekend.
If, for documented health reasons, you cannot do a 37-hour internship per week, you may apply for exemption for your internship to last more days but of shorter hours. Apply for exemption via SDBF.DK. You could also talk to KEA Study and Career Guidance before applying.
The programme curriculum lays down the time when your internship must take place. You cannot move your internship and do it at a different time.
On your programme page it is possible to see what kind of internship you can take. You can also find information about your internship coordinator and how to contact him/her..
At every semester start, there’s an Intro party at KEA. The intro parties are held in September and February.
Information about the Intro Party will be posted on KEA Student Life and in our calender
The fire authorities do not allow coffee machines and other similar electrical devices to be set up in classrooms.
It is also not permitted to bring your own electric kettle, coffee machine, microwave oven and refrigerators etc. at KEA's addresses due to fire safety and electrical installations.
KEA have kitchenettes available to the students at all addresses, and here you will find the necessary electrical appliances purchased and approved by KEA for e.g. to make coffee/tea.
