Sustainability is an important focus area for KEA, so we continually sort our waste. As a student, you can help to ensure that KEA’s waste is recycled in the most environmentally friendly way by using the containers placed in classrooms, communal areas and workshops. The main fractions are card and cardboard, paper, plastics, deposit bottles and cans, ordinary refuse and environmentally hazardous waste.
Contact the employees in the respective labs if you have special waste.
Please write to Service Desk (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. - remember to write from your KEA-mail), if you need to have large quantities of waste removed such as cardboard or packaging. Or if you need discarded materials such as clean cardboard, pallets etc. for a project.

When you are about to graduate, there are several practical things you need to be aware of - including signing up for an unemployment fund (a-kasse).
We have created a to-remember list for you who will soon graduate:
KEA Alumne is a free network for you who have graduated from KEA. The network gives you the opportunity to keep in touch with KEA by meeting, reuniting or revisiting former fellow students and strengthen your professional network and your career.
As a student or graduate, you can use our job portal. The job portal allows you to see job openings that are relevant to you. You can create a job agent that selects the most relevant ads for you.
The career guidance is based on your specific and personal life situation as well as your competencies, dreams and challenges. At the same time, we help you with tools to handle challenges and make informed choices. We talk about your KEA-skills and how you can apply them in your future career.
At KEA, we have a strong focus on environmental measures and green initiatives. Facility & IT strives to be both energy-conscious and to provide a good working environment. As an employee or a student at KEA, you can support the initiatives by remembering to switch off the lights when you leave your workplace, by sorting your waste into the available containers and not throwing e.g. cigarette butts on the ground.
If you have any suggestions for environmental improvements, please feel free to write to the Service Desk (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. - remember to write from your KEA-mail).
KEA is member of DAKOFA, Waste and Resource Network Denmark. As a student at KEA you can become a member of several networks, e.g. within textile and construction waste, and sign up for seminars and conferences at a reduced price of 550 DKK. When registering for an event or network, you must create a user profile and remember to provide the following information: name, programme, student at Copenhagen School of Design and Technology (KEA).

Collaboration is an essential part of KEA’s programmes. When you’ve completed your study, you’ll be able to be a part of team work and project work. You’ll have learned to cooperate with people from other professions and other nationalities as well as with different clients and partners. That’s why a lot of your study includes project and group work, and why many exams are about group projects which you cannot carry out on your own. Therefore you must feel like - and be prepared to make group and project work a priority during your study.
By working with projects you will also learn about personal leadership and structuring your time and your tasks. In addition, you will learn to work with your social competencies.
You must be active as a student and your attendance must be stable. This is because many of KEA’s programmes are relatively short and a lot of the curricula is learned though projects in groups and in KEA’s labs. In general, you must accomplish your study according to the ordinary conditions in the established framework of the programmes.
